Willis "Butch" Meyer

Willis "Butch" Meyer, 94 of Waterloo, Illinois, passed on July 12, 2023. He was born March 11, 1929 in his parents' home in Southern Illinois.

    He is survived by his children: Renee (Stan) Melching, Kevin Meyer, Curt (Kellie) Meyer, and Eric (Melissa) Meyer, his step-children: Dennis (Virginia) Brand, Shirley (Michael) Stiening, Nancy (Kenneth) Schanz, Allen (Gina) Brand, and Janet (Tim) Tessler. Grandchildren; Troy (Kim) Melching, David & Caitlyn Meyer, Brittany (RJ) Saffell, Patrick Meyer, Layne & Kloey Meyer. Great-Grandchildren; Jordan & Bryce Melching, Mikayla, Iris, & Vera Meyer, Makenna Saffell, Declan, Colten, Braxton, and Gracelyn Meyer; 10 step grandchildren, 20 step great grandchildren, 1 step great-great grandson, brother in law: Walter "Bud" (Millie) Wittenauer, nieces; nephew, cousins, and many friends.

    Butch was preceded in death by his 1st wife; Carmaleta H Notter (nee Galeski), his 2nd wife; Frances M Meyer (nee Wittenauer); his parents Henry W and Minnie Meyer (nee Schmieg), his brothers Edgar, Elmer, Arthur, and Roy Meyer: his sisters: Irene Banks, Esther Sickmeier, Vera Fisher, Alice Sickmeier and Rose Banks; brother in laws & sister in laws; and his grandson, Todd Brand.

    Butch was a Machinist and he enjoyed remodeling and house construction most of his life. He was in many groups including: RSVP Volunteer, Waterloo Quadrille's, and member of St. Paul UCC, Floraville, IL. Butch was an avid Polka, Waltz, Ballroom Dancer and enjoyed Square Dancing.
