Willard W. Wiegand, 88, of Waterloo, IL, died February 19, 2024, in St. Louis, MO. He was born May 23, 1935, in Waterloo, IL.
He is survived by his wife Alberta "Bertie" Wiegand, nee Haas; children Cindy Wiegand (James Light) & Jimmy (Cass) Wiegand; grandchildren Tiffany Schilling, Nicole (Jeff) Harvey, Alan (Nicole) Schilling Jr., Sydney Wiegand, and Nathaniel Wiegand; 3 step grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents George & Alma (nee Koerber) Wiegand, brothers Roland Wiegand and Herbert Wiegand;, and sisters-in-law Phyllis Wiegand and Bonnie Wiegand.
Willard was a lifelong farmer and worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture as a grain inspector during the flood of 1993 when he saw the destruction it had on crops, property and peoples lives.
He also worked as a mechanic for Erb Equipment Co. in St. Louis, Missouri. He drove a school bus for 21 years for Waterloo It was enjoyable for him because he enjoyed the kids and cared for their safety. For years he also worked for Monroe County Road District.
Willard attended Waterloo High School and was a member of the FFA.
He had many friends, and along with his family, he will be missed.
