Vicky Lynn Liefer, 64, of Waterloo, IL died peacefully at Mercy South Hospital August 9, 2023, with her family by her side. She was born November 5, 1958, in St. Louis, MO.
Vicky is survived by the father of her children Virgil Liefer, children Cody (Nicole) Liefer, Leha (Justin) Russell, Britton (Taylor) Liefer, bonus children Keith (Kathy) Liefer, and Kim (Barry) Gambrell, grandchildren Courtney, Kayla, Kassidy, Dekan, Kaden, Makenzie, and Mason, great grandchildren Hayley and Michael, sister Delores Lantrip, brother Brian Dean, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Wesley Dean and Eunice Gray, her sister Ann Dean, and her beloved nephew Christen Dean.
Vicky worked as a dock hand for 25 years at Consolidated Coal in Modoc, IL. She enjoyed her job and was a very hard worker. After they closed, she had a few miscellaneous jobs one of her favorites being a cook at Dave and Joyce's County Kitchen in Red Bud, IL.
Throughout her life Vicky enjoyed barrel racing horses, playing frisbee, riding her bike (usually with one of her kids on the back), listening to music, camping, drawing, cooking, shopping, collecting jewelry, and spending quality time with her family and friends. She loved to laugh and have fun.
She was a kind, loving, and non-judgmental soul. She was a mother to many, not just her own children. She always had an open door and a listening ear for anyone who needed her. She was a GIVER and never expected anything in return.
As an expression of sympathy, the family prefers memorial contributions to House of Neighborly Services or Donor's choice.
As the giver that she was, Vicky donated her body to science so that others can learn from her ailments.
A Celebration of Life will be held by family at a later date.
