Thomas F. Beatty , 82, of Waterloo, IL, died September 4, 2015 in Waterloo, IL. He was born March 28, 1933 in Fairmount City, IL.
He is survived by his wife Norma Beatty, children Steve (Jan) Beatty, & Julie Ann Kellermann, 3 stepchildren Debbie (Mike) Anderson, Danny Altschuh, & Ken (Linda) Altschuh, numerous grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, sister Darlene Hunt, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, & cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents John & Jebron (nee Spain) Beatty, grandson Justin McDaniels, 3 infant siblings, 2 brothers Jack Beatty and Bill Beatty, and a sister Ruth Ann Talbert.
Visitation will be at Quernheim Funeral Home from 4 PM to 8 PM Tuesday September 8, 2015 and 10 AM until time of service Wednesday.
Funeral 11 AM Wednesday September 9, 2015 at Quernheim Funeral Home Waterloo, IL with Pastor Matt Friz officiating and burial will be at Waterloo Cemetery in Waterloo, IL.
Tom was a retired Illinois State Police Officer with 25 years of service and extensive police training and experienced enforcement investigations and numerous other police operations including being liaison officer with courts.
He served 10 years on active duty with the US Navy Submarine Force. After his enlistment he served 20 years with Navy Reserve as an instructor and administrator. He retired out of the Navy after 30 years of service to his country
He also served as Post Commander for the VFW Post 6504 – Waterloo, IL and was chairman of the Illinois State Police Assoc. Division #8 for 5 years.
