Teruko Ward

Teruko “Teddy” Ward, nee Furuyama, 88, of Henderson, NV, formerly of Renault, IL, died November 28, 2015, in Las Vegas, NV. She was born January 2, 1927, in Yokohama-Shi, Kanagawa-Ken, Japan.

She is survived by her children Irvin R. Ward, & Grace Ward; grandchildren Jon Ward, Marie Ward, Amanda Ward, & Matthew Ward; 3 great grandchildren; niece Masako Fukuzawa; numerous other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by husband Irvin Ward Jr., son Michael Ward, her parents Masao & Sai (nee Koyama) Furuyama, & siblings.

Visitation will be from 4 PM to 8 PM Thursday December 10, 2015 and 8 AM to 9:45 AM Friday at Quernheim Funeral Home.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 AM Friday December 11, 2015, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Renault, IL, with Msgr. Daniel J. Jurek officiating, and burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.

Teruko worked at St. Clement Hospital in Red Bud, IL between 1966 – 2003, prior to that she worked at the Monroe County Nursing Home. Her healthcare career spanned over 47 years.
