To the family of Steve,
I am so sorry to hear that Steve has passed. He and I worked many shifts together throughout the years. He was a kind and caring person. He will be missed. I have a lot of good memories working with Steve. May you find comfort in the wonderful memories you all cherish.

The outpouring of love and support we received from friends, neighbors, and our community has been incredible. Thank You for helping us celebrate Steve's extraordinary life. What comes from the heart touches the heart and we have found great comfort in your thoughtful messages. They were truly appreciated. Our heartfelt thanks to his band of brothers, the Monroe County Sheriffs Dept, who kept an honor guard vigil during the visitation. Both the Sheriffs Dept and the Ambulance service led us to Steve's final resting place. The respect they demonstrated for Steve's 35 years of service to the community was very moving and will never be forgotten. We are immensely grateful to Immanuel Lutheran and Rev. Merritt Demski who provided a beautifully touching tribute to Steve's life and focused us on the reassuring promises of Jesus.
May Steve's impact in our lives not just exist as a memory but let his life inspire us to ask, what is our story? How are we making a difference? Are we being the good we want to see in this world? Are we living a life that matters?

I am so sorry to hear of Steve's passing. He was one of my students in the Belleville Memorial EMT/EMP program.
I pray he is walking with God and resting in the heaven. God bless your family. Judy Vogt
