Norman D.  Kutterer, 92, of Columbia, IL, Illinois, died April 3, 2016, in Columbia, IL. He was born February 12, 1924, in Cairo, IL.

    He is survived by his wife Kathleen Kutterer nee Schaffer; children George R. (Emilia) Kutterer, Suzanne (Joseph) Kutterer-Siburt, & Stephanie (Phillip) Kutterer-Bond; grandchildren Leilani (Chris) Landry, Amanda (Aaron) Siburt-Schnaus, Sarah Siburt, & John (Lisa) Kehrer; great-grandchildren Sabrina Kehrer, Mia Kehrer, Olivia Kehrer, Marlina Landry, & Kinzie Paige Schnaus; sisters Mary Reitz & Beth (John) Holtschlag; sisters-in-law Catherine Kutterer, Margaret Kutterer, & Maxine Ziebold-Schaffer; brother-in-law James (Janet) Schaffer; and many nieces, nephews, & cousins.

    He was preceded in death by his parents George Robert & Genevieve (nee Patterson) Kutterer, brothers Thomas & Leo Kutterer, brothers-in-law Harry Schaffer, Fritz Reitz, in-laws Harry & Louise (nee Schmidt) Schaffer.

    Norman was a member of SS Peter & Paul Parish, Knights of Columbus - Charles Hellrung Assembly - Fourth Degree, Columbia American Legion 581, Columbia Historical Society, St. Vincent De Paul, & he volunteered at numerous organizations. He was also a World War II, CPL (TEC5), US Army Veteran Artilleryman and Purple Heart recipient. Campaigns served: Normandy, Northern France, Battle of The Bulge, Rhineland, & Central Europe.
            He was also Vice President and Director of the Oerter Foundation since it started in 1987 and President and Director of the Norman Kutterer Family Foundation.

At Norman's request his body was donated to St. Louis University School of Medicine.

    9 AM Saturday, April 9, 2016 at SS Peter & Paul Church in Waterloo, IL
