Nancy Janet Graper, 77, of Red Bud, Illinois, passed away January 1, 2024. She was born on April 20, 1946, to Edward and Ruth Finnerty (nee Rehmer) of Waterloo, Illinois.
Nancy grew up in Waterloo, Illinois where she graduated from Waterloo High School in 1964. She married David Henry Graper, Jr. on November 7, 1964 and together had 4 children and 4 grandchildren.
She enjoyed country music, craft fairs, spending time at the beach, traveling with her family and spending time with lifelong friends. In the summer months she could be found attending Grizzlies games. She was a longtime member of the Monroe Council for the Handicapped, participating in community events and fundraisers with her late brother Terry Finnerty.
She is survived by her son, Kevin Graper; daughter, Kathryn (Harold) Tillman; daughter, Karri (Dan) Haggin; grandchildren; Chelsea Tillman, Miles Tillman, Olivia Haggin and Caitlin Haggin; sister, Barbara (Dean) Daley, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Henry Graper Jr.; daughter, Kristi Lynn Graper; parents, Edward and Ruth Finnerty (nee Rehmer); in-laws, David H. & Mary Graper; and brothers Michael and Terry Finnerty.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Wounded Warrior Project.
