Judith Ann Nottmeier

Judith A.  Nottmeier, nee Mentel, 73, of Staunton, Illinois, died January 26, 2016, in Staunton, IL. She was born May 26, 1942, in E. St. Louis, IL.

    She is survived by her niece Lisa A. Mentel-Carpenter of Linn Creek, MO; nephew Michael K. (Melissa) Mentel of Eldon, MO; great niece Emma Grace Mentel of Eldon, MO; and a brother Keith L. (LaVerne) Mentel of Osage Beach, MO. 

    She was preceded in death by her parents Henry George "Chick" & Viola Frances (nee Gentsch) Mentel.

    Judith graduated from Waterloo High School and then received an undergraduate degree in Education from SIU-Carbondale. She taught at Columbia Elementary in Columbia, IL, until her retirement. In her retirement, she moved to Staunton, IL, where she was a baby sitter and also worked at Steinmann Trucking for a short time. She enjoyed spending time with her dog. "Cookie", and going to the movies. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church - Hamel, IL and a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waterloo, IL.
