Erdman Esker, 72, of Granville, Illinois formerly of Fults, Illinois passed away on May 16 in his home surrounded by his wife & family. Erdie was born November 18, 1942 in Redbud, Illinois to Everett & Evelyn Esker.
He married Carol Offermann on October 30, 1961. He enlisted in the Army in 1961 & was honorably discharged in 1964 with the rank of E4. Erdie spent most of his life working for Grain Elevators & retired from Cargill in Spring Valley, IL in 2000. Erdie enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, & craftsmanship.
Surviving are his wife Carol of 54 years, His daughter Lisa (Jim) Keen of Granville, Il & seven grandchildren Dan & Jesse Siegmann; James, Chelsea, & Clay Keen all of Granville, IL; Ashley Pfershy & Chase Esker of Millstadt, IL; & two great grandsons Evean Siegmann and Cayman Pfershy. Brothers Eugene (Gisela) Esker, Elvis Esker, Edwin Esker & nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 children Kevin Esker & Sherry Siegmann; his brothers Edward and Ervin Esker & one sister Edna Page.
Services will be Thursday May 21 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Helmer-Shields Funeral Home in Granville, IL. Erdie will then be taken to Quernheim Funeral Home in Waterloo, Illinois where services will be held on Saturday May 23 from 10 am to 11:30 am. Military Rites will be at 11:30 am. Burial will be at a later date.
