Charles E. "Charlie" Vogt, 81, of Valmeyer, IL, died October 12, 2016, in St. Louis, MO. He was born October 6, 1935, in Mount Olive, IL.
Loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
He is survived by his children Tim (Donna) Vogt, Karen Vogt, and Kathleen (Jim) Graves; grandchildren Rebeccah, Jamie, Charles (Jessica), Katrina, and Anna Grace; step grand children Lori Contes & Steve Keith; great granddaughter Emily; brothers & sister Pat (Wayne) Pruiett, John (Cheryl) Vogt, & Mike Vogt; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; nieces; nephews; & cousins.
Charles is preceded in death by his wife Patricia L. Vogt nee Matejka (married 58 years);parents Romanus & Augusta (nee Minikin) Vogt; daughters Cynthia L. Vogt and Theresa A. Vogt (infant); & sister Dolores Longstreet.
He is a member of St. Mary's Church - Valmeyer, National Audubon Society, St. Louis Camera Club, formerly employed at Monsanto (over 30 years), recipient of Monsanto Corporate Research REACH AWARD for Outstanding Development of Novel Crosslinkers, & he had a photo published in Illinois DNR nature magazine.
A warm and caring person, Charlie truly enjoyed spending time with family and friends, whether it was playing pinochle, chess, or scrabble. Throughout his life, Charlie was a loyal and dedicated family man who had a love for nature and a great sense of humor. Charlie was well-liked by all who knew him and will be sadly missed.
