Carnel A.  Gilbert, 92, of Valmeyer, Illinois, died April 16, 2016, in Waterloo, IL. He was born September 12, 1923, in Valmeyer, IL.

    He is survived by his children Larry Gilbert, Gary (Nancy) Gilbert, Diane Huffman; grandchildren Christine (Duane) Brinkmann, Adam (Lisa) Gilbert, Allen (Kelli) Gilbert, Angela (Brett) Crawford, Beth (Mark) Heusohn, Gary (Carrie) Gilbert, Sharon (Terry) Marquardt, Bryan Huffman (Patty Donley), Stephanie Huffman, Shannon (Brian) Eckart; step granddaughter Jodi (Steven) Gardner; 23 great grandchildren; sisters Virginia Keaton, & Judy (Roger) Wild; brother Roy (Yvonne) Gilbert; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, & cousins.

    He is preceded in death by his wife Catherine Gilbert (nee Dickneite); parents Adam & Bertha (nee Scheibe) Gilbert; son-in-law Ray Huffman; sisters, sisters-in-law, & brothers-in-law.

    Carnel was a member of St. Mary's Church - Valmeyer, IL, Knights of Columbus Assembly no. 1529 (4th Degree), & Maeystown Sportsmans Club.

    8 AM until 9:15 AM Tuesday

    10 AM Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Valmeyer, IL
