Bill Fitzgibbons

Bill   Fitzgibbons, 82, of Waterloo, IL,  passed from the loving arms of his wife Rita into the loving arms of God on August 8, 2016. He was born April 19, 1934 in East St. Louis, Illinois

    He is survived by his wife Rita, his loving wife of 35 years; mother-in-law Lena Meeker; in-laws Doug and Milly Neff, Rob and Jeri Eaton, Roger and Kathy Meeker, Jeff Meeker and Keith and Lynn Giebe. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

    He is preceded in death by his parents John & Hazel (nee Louvier) Fitzgibbons; sister Charlotte; and three brothers Forrest, John and Joseph. In addition he was preceded in death by his father-in-law Edward Meeker; in-laws Ron and Kathy Meeker, Wilma Marsh and Tina Noonan as well as two nieces and two nephews.

    Bill Became a member of the community in 1981 when he opened the McDonald's Restaurant in Waterloo, Illinois and soon followed the opening of McDonald's Restaurant in Columbia, Illinois. He loved the community and strongly supported any needs of the community. Bill got great satisfaction in knowing he had impacted the lives of young people. He was a wonderful man who wanted nothing more than peace and kindness among people. Bill loved God, his wife Rita and family.

    4 PM to 8 PM Friday, August 12, 2016 at Quernheim Funeral Home
    11 AM until time of service Saturday at Baue Funeral and Memorial Center

    12 Noon Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Baue Funeral and Memorial Center
